★ - why did I choose to rp as this character?

this is probably a really cliched answer, but i chose to rp as terra because she is honestly, in my opinion, one of the most relatable characters that has ever been created. granted, most of us probably didn’t betray our superhero-ed friends for a psychotic maniac with nice eyeliner or planned to annihilate them one by one or anything, but even still, her story can still be considered relevant to a lot of people.

terra was just really, really, really fucking lost, okay. her moral compass was fucked up from the start, and along with her lack of true control over her powers, she was never really sure where to go or what she wanted to do with herself which was why she was always running away. she wanted to be accepted by people, but she never knew where to start…and when she tried to start, she ended up hecking up and causing problems for everyone else.

we’ve all felt that we don’t belong anywhere and that we’re living burdens, and honestly and to this day, i’ve always felt at odds against the world…not because i almost killed my friends or because i have geokinetic abilities that i’m unable to tame; my story isn’t as dreadful as that. i too have done horrible things, and at first, i felt no remorse for doing any of it…but looking back, all i am is a big walking and talking pile of regret. the “i don’t need saving” is a fucking facade, man. everyone needs saving whether it be now or sometime in the future…sure, we can do things on our own, but sometimes, we all just really need someone or something to be there for us. i mean, you can’t rely on someone to save you from yourself completely because that’s not possible, but hey, they can be there to help you and to support you. we can’t always be a one-man show.

terra is just so fucking relatable and relevant to so many of the things that people go through on a daily basis, and i hate how almost everyone in the teen titans fandom hates her for what? being human? we all make fucking mistakes, regardless of whether or not they’re big or small. she messed up big time, sure, and it’s understandable why people wouldn’t forgive her, but seriously…do you really think she wanted things to end up the way they did? how do you know you wouldn’t do the same if you were in her shoes?

in short, terra is just really important, and she can really teach you a thing or two about human nature, okay

idc if you detest her as a person but goddamn she was really fucking good as a character
